Quick Pullback, Yes or No?
In a conference with the senior American commander in the Iraq war General David H. Petraeus and the American ambassador Ryan C. Crocker on September 10 about the war, there was sure to be a plethera of coverage. As both man had there chance at the podium to speak, one major issue was at hand and being stressed, wheather or not there should be a quick pullback in Iraq. One of my arguments with this article is how the General was adament against pulling back troops because of all the progress they've made so far, but never really stated just exactly what the progress was.

It is interesting that we never actually get to learn what this "progress" is. But it does show that many Americans can be kept happy with vague promises. People like hearing words like progress and advancement, and sometimes you don't have to elaborate to make them content. That shows you the state of our nation.
